CANADIAN LEASE EDUCATION ON-DEMAND
Enhancing and expanding professional knowledge within the
Canadian asset-based financing, equipment and vehicle leasing industry
What is CLEO?
Canadian Lease Education On-demand (CLEO) is series of pre-taped educational webcasts designed to enhance your general understanding of the asset-based financing, equipment and vehicle leasing business in Canada. Whether you are new to the leasing industry or a seasoned professional interested in an aspect of the business outside your expertise, CLEO provides:
► A comprehensive leasing education. The CLEO program takes individuals through the life of a lease from marketing and pricing to collections and lease company management. Participants can also learn about the key legal, insurance and accounting issues that affect the leasing industry.
► Excellent instructors. CLEO instructors are veterans of the leasing industry practicing in today’s market. Based on participant evaluations, more than 80 per cent of respondents agreed that CLEO instructors were knowledgeable about their course content and effective presenters.
►A flexible and convenient way to learn. All you need is a quiet room and a computer with high-speed internet. Take CLEO sessions from home, work or anywhere you wish, at a time that’s most convenient for you. You can take all of the sessions in short time to get a comprehensive picture of the leasing business in Canada or take sessions one at a time, in any order.
► An opportunity to ask questions – Even though the CLEO sessions are pre-taped, you can still ask questions of the instructors.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q. When you say that CLEO provides a general leasing education, what do you mean?
A. We distinguish between lease education and training. Education teaches you about the leasing business; training shows you how do to a particular job. CLEO is designed to provide participants with a general education, an overview of each area of a leasing business. CLEO is not an in-depth training program to teach a leasing professional how to do specific functions within a leasing company.
Q. How much do I have to know about leasing to take these sessions?
A. CLEO is an introductory level education program. While some sessions may be more technical than others, a general familiarity with the leasing industry is all that is required.
Q. What is the time commitment?
A. Each session will take approximately four - five hours, including preparatory reading the background material and completing possible exercises, viewing a one to two-hour on-line webcast and taking the post-session test.
Q. What will I receive at the end of a session?
A. Once you have viewed the webcast, you are expected to complete an on-line test. Once graded, CFLA will send you the results for your records and/or to share with your employer.
Q. Can staff sign up as a group and take the session together?
A. No. The program is designed to be delivered to individuals, not groups. Each session includes a post-session test designed to be completed by individuals.
